Shattered Palais Garnier The subject I chose for the assignment is the Palais Garnier in Paris. One of the reasons why I chose it is because I love the Phantom of the Opera and the other reason is that it has a lot of symbolism that represent the arts, such as having Apollo as one of the statues and his lyre is emphasized all over the opera house. My work ties with the ending of the movie version of the Phantom of the Opera. The Palais Garnier in shards is representing the scenes where the Phantom destroys the opera house and shatters his mirrors to escape.
