(untitled) My subject matter is Mount Rushmore. The first painting is the whole view of Mount Rushmore from the traditional perspective and the second is from the viewpoint of a cave in the forest beneath Mount Rushmore. The content is about the stolen land that is America and how the beautiful nature was destroyed and replaced with the faces of American leaders. The cave represents the darkness that Native Americans felt when their beloved land was taken. Only a hint of nature is shown while the main focus is the representative of America, George Washington. This represents how the originals of the land are forgotten while American leaders are praised as heroes.
